Destination: Tatzat

This day combines historical heritage, the villages to the east and northeast of Sarandë, and the arrival in the area of Tatzat, where the deepest natural part of the journey begins.
A few years ago, in this area we organized the festival “Dancing with Goats”, with artists from Europe and the USA.
This time, we are simply here to experience the “festival of nature.”
This is a hidden place among the mountains and away from attention, where nature has a voice and speaks.
This can only be understood once you arrive on site.
One of our earliest discoveries, which has become one of the most preferred by adventure travelers.
It still remains off the tourism map.
And that is exactly why we are here.
● Breakfast in Sarandë
Waking up in Sarandë and a calm breakfast before heading towards the interior of the mountains.
After a coffee at Hasta La Vista hostel, we go for breakfast at one of the restaurants on the city boulevard, to feel the iodine of the sea and the atmosphere of the early hours.
This is the last day we experience Sarandë during this expedition.
● Departure towards the village of Kalasë (area of Delvinë)
A short stop in the center of the village of Kalasë for a glass of raki.
We visit one of the stone bridges over the Kalasa river, built during the Ottoman period in the Middle Ages.
We also visit the Tekke of Kalasë in the center of the village.
The Tekke belongs to the Bektashi belief. A spiritual tradition with elements of both Christianity and Islam, with its world center in Albania.
A tolerant belief, closely connected to the Albanian way of life, and a rare experience to encounter.
● Departure towards Tatzat
Journey towards the mountain village of Tatzat, with a gradual transition from an urban area into a deep rural environment.
● Walk in Tatzat
Walk through the village, discovering local life and the characteristic landscape of the area.
● Descent towards the agro-cultural farm
The group descends towards the agro-cultural farm where the main part of the day takes place.
The descent is done on foot (hike), along a steep terrain, off the usual path.
● Lunch at the farm
(combined Lunch + Dinner)
At the farm, a long meal is enjoyed, combining lunch and dinner, with traditional local food.
The atmosphere is open and social, accompanied by a performance from a group of traditional singers.
● Accommodation in Tatzat
Accommodation is arranged in wooden cabins at the farm, with good conditions.
Depending on the number of participants, there is also the option of accommodation in village houses, as part of our agreement, available as an additional alternative.
● End of Day 5
The day ends in the rural calm of Tatzat, with rest and time spent in nature.
The star-filled sky and the gentle sound of the nearby river create an atmosphere that invites you to stay awake longer.
However, rest is necessary, as the next day will be more intense.
