Krorëz → Kakome → Blue Eye → Gjirokastër
This day continues from the isolated nature of Krorëz and ends in the historic city of Gjirokastër.
Gjirokastër is one of the two cities with unique architecture in Albania, protected by UNESCO.
It is also a city of contrasts, where in the same neighborhood and in the same period were born Enver Hoxha, the former dictator who declared Albania the first atheist country in the world and isolated it for 45 years, and on the other hand Ismail Kadare, the genius of Albanian literature and an internationally renowned writer and poet.
The stone city of Gjirokastër, its bazaar and the Gjirokastër Castle are among the most visited attractions in Albania.

● Wake-up in Krorëzë Beach
The day begins on the beach, in the campsite set up in nature. A simple breakfast in an open environment.
A coffee in natural conditions and perhaps a sandwich left from the previous day in the backpack.
However, it is certain that we will enjoy every moment by the sound of the waves and the sunrise.
Meanwhile, a proper brunch awaits us later during the journey, in more comfortable conditions.
● Hike towards the Monastery of Krorëz
A short uphill hike towards the monastery area above Krorëz, with panoramic views over the bay.

● Hiking towards Kakome Bay
We continue hiking off the beaten path towards Kakome, through coastal terrain.
We return once again to this bay, as it is the ideal place to say “goodbye” to the Saranda region, where we have spent several days in a true adventure.
Hiking on this steep terrain at this time of the day is a powerful and memorable experience.
● Meeting with the vehicle in Kakome
At Kakome Bay, transport will be waiting for us to continue the day.
● Break at Blue Eye
A break for a light brunch and rest at one of the most well-known natural springs in Albania.
This spring is in fact the “eye” of an underground karst system, where water rises from great depths through limestone rock formations.
That is why it appears like a “bottomless hole” with that deep blue color.

● Departure towards Gjirokastër
Travel by car from the coastal area towards the mountainous interior, heading to the historic city.
● Check-in at the hotel in Gjirokastër
Accommodation in a hotel within the historic city.
● Dinner in the city
Dinner in Gjirokastër at a local restaurant with a traditional atmosphere.
The cuisine of Gjirokastër is relatively different from that of Saranda.
